Candidate Profile
Your role as a building enclosure consultant is to pursue the best value for the building owner. Your job duties include the evaluation, assessment and design of existing and new roofing and waterproofing systems. You will be required to communicate with building owners, operators, architects, engineers, manufacturers and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Building condition assessment
- Leak and hail investigation
- Reporting and documentation
- Document review
- Collaborate with architects and other design consultants
- Complete wind uplift, venting and thermal transmittance (U-value) calculations
- Develop drawings and specifications
- Conduct construction quality assurance reviews
- Manage projects for clients, from design to completion
- Research products, installation practices, code requirements and industry best practices
- Contribute to expert witness studies
- Building commissioning reports
- Account for project challenges or constraints
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Reciprocal peer review of client facing documents
- Contribute to and with industry organizations (IIIBEC – International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, CSC – Construction Specifications Canada, Etc.) for personal growth within and development of the industry.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
- AAA Licensed Architect OR APEGA Professional Licensee or Professional Engineer
- Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certifications and ARCA inspector considered an asset
- Working knowledge of roofing and waterproofing technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with Autocad
- Ability to assume responsibility and work independently with minimum direction
- Working at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing roof tops
- Treading over uneven ground
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation and Company Commitment to You
- Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000
- Start Date: Immediately
